About Me
Hi, I’m Jessica!
My desire to pursue a career in nutrition stems from personally experiencing the power of food as medicine, family health history, and a commitment to empowering youth and their families to improve their health behaviors.
As someone who comes from a family with a history of heart disease, behavioral health issues, and stomach ailments, nutrition is particularly important and relevant to me. Over the last several years, I have made small health-related behavior changes that have had significant positive impacts on my overall health and wellness. These changes had a ripple effect - many members of my immediate family and several friends gradually began making their own changes. Many of these individuals have also expressed their gratitude to me for inspiring them and helping them find the motivation they needed to make important changes for their health. Witnessing these shifts has been powerful and contributed to my desire to pursue clinical work. My educational background in social work and nutrition education in tandem with my work in health and human services provide me unique perspective and underscore my passion for functional and integrative health.
In my own health journey, I was overwhelmed by the conflicting nutrition information available, struggled to determine which sources were reliable and trustworthy and was unclear about what I should really do to feel my best. Spoiler alert: teas do not make you burn fat and feeling good on the outside starts with feeling good on the inside. I now understand how to read health information with a discerning eye and have developed and trusted tools for authentic healing and growth. There is no one-size fits all approach to health and I want to provide the support you need to feel your best. From new moms working to navigate food intolerances, to women navigating menopause, to parents searching for healthy after-school snack ideas, to teens and college students struggling with body image. I also work with clients who have chronic medical conditions, are struggling with mental health, and individuals interested in making lifestyle changes (for medical or personal reasons).
I look forward to working with you and helping you feel like your best self, radiating from the inside out!
